Elder Ritter - 5/8/2023

Hola a todos! So sorry this email's getting out late, we've had a really fun P-Day here and it's just been very busy, but anyways here's what happened this week:

1. Gibraltar

Me and my companion decided last P-Day to visit the British Zone of Gibraltar, which is home to a BUNCH of British people, and monkeys on top of the rock. We took a very long hike and met a friend along the way named James. He was from England and taking a gap year of studies, and we talked A LOT with him: what we were doing there, what we believed in, what he believed in, and our hobbies, interests, etc. It was really refreshing to get to know someone from a different country who also spoke English, and we got to take some pictures with the macaques! Overall super fun day and one that made me love Spain that much more.

2. Pepi

Hopefully you all remember our good friend Pepi! This week we had another lesson with her and this time we decided to read the first chapter of the Book of Mormon together to help her understand it. That's been one of her biggest problems with reading the Book of Mormon, is understanding what it's telling her. It started off a little shaky, but at one point she read the verse, "And he also saw twelve others following him, and their brightness did exceed that of the stars in the firmament." And immediately after said, "well obviously that's the 12 apostles." I almost jumped out of my chair and yelled, "YES THATS EXACTLY IT," I was so excited. Rest of the lessonsĀ  went OK but that one moment made it for me.Ā

3. DĆa de la Madre

It was mother's day in Spain on Sunday, and so we decided to visit one of our recent converts who is the mother of two wonderful kids. We gave her some cookies, chatted with her kids, and it seemed to make her day. Wish all your moms Feliz DĆa de la Madre!

4. Concert in Sevilla

I was asked to participate in a missionary activity this week up in Sevilla where missionaries and groups of members performed outdoors for the local community. I got to play guitar solo and with my good friend Elder Coello, who is a Zone Leader up in Sevilla. It was really fun to share our talents with the members and with their friends. I ended up having to play two more songs than I was prepared to do, but my time busking with Landon prepared me for that. Then afterwards we stayed the night with Elder Coello and Lasa and had an AWESOME sleepover.Ā

Overall, pretty good week with TONS of travel. I'm grateful every day that we have a car that allows us to do that. Looking forward to a week LLENA CON MILAGROS.

"And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found."Ā
