Elder Ritter - 3/18/2024

Hola a todos!

We'll, my time here in Malaga is up! 4 transfers, almost 7 months, here in Malaga and it's finished! We got calls from our president and Elder Gallup is stasying here to lead out the area and I'm heading down to Mar Menor, in the province of Murcia. I'm a little sad, especially since I will not be in Andalucia, but I'm so excited to be in a new zone with new people. I'm going to be with my TEC brother Elder Gribel and we're going to be working with the young adults in the stake! It's going to be interesting and I'm not sure what to expect, but it's going to be such a fun adventure.

In other news, we are still working down here! We had a very powerful lesson with our friend Eli, and invited her to be baptized. She prayed about it, and said. "not right now." Which isn't a no! So we'll see where she goes. Otherwise, she's doing really well. She came to church and all the members love her!

Deisy is still going, although a little bit slowly right now. She's coming to the activities but didn't come to church this week :( But we were walking her back from one of the activitries with her cousin and another member, and a homeless guy came up to us and asked for money. Elder Gallup didn't understand him, and so he starts talking in English and yelling/cursing at us. He spit at Elder Gallup, and wanted to pick a fight with me, but luckily it didn't escalate much beyond that. We had a good laugh about that haha.

We visited our boy Alben this week. Bro did 12 handstand pushups. We were in shock. That's about it for him. And he came to church!!! WOOOO Alben!

Alright, to finish out, quick little love letter to Málaga, because I really love this city.

As much as I am so excited to experience another place and people, its always so hard to leave a place, especially one as blessed as Malaga. I'm going to miss the lovely breezes, the view from our piso, the sunrise every morning over the Mediterranean. We walk around to our chapel every day and I just can't help but say, "What a beautiful day!" It's always nice here, even when it's raining! I always know another sunny day is around the corner. I really get what you mean, Dad, when you always are so stoked about a lovely day! Lifts my spirits every time!

And don't even get me started on the members. These people are so charitable and loving to us, and we are so happy when we visit them. The Gutierrez family, the Zapata family, the Gomez family, Cookie's family (yes that's her name), all of them are so funny and I always leave with a smile on my face AT LEAST. If not, I'm laughing my face off. These families are so great, and are some of my favorite people here in Spain.

Most of all, I've learned so much about myself here and about how to view others. I've been challenged to be better and more charitable and more Christlike in every way my entire time here. I have my companions, our friends, and the members to thank for that. Malaga has changed me, and these people have changed me. Truly so much love for this area. And don't even get me started on the views, the castles, the museums, the hikes, the Manquita, the Alcazaba, and everything else.

I LOVE MALAGA. That's all.
