Hello, my name is Henry R___ and I will be giving a talk on 4 Nephi chapter one, verses 13 and 15 – 18. These verses mainly talk about how there was no contention in ALL the land after Jesus visited the Nephites in the Americas. I think that that was pretty cool because I often get mad and argue with my family.
In verse 15 it reads “And it came to pass that there was no contention in the land because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.” I think it’s amazing how strong God’s love is for us, it was so strong that there was no contention in the land for 200 years.
I often think to myself, “how can we feel the love of God more to make no contention like the Nephites did?” I feel the love of God when I take the sacrament and think of Him and all the sacrifices He made for us.
Another way you can feel the love of God is when you kneel down to pray, focus on what you’re praying for. Don’t just say what you always say, actually think about Him and He will fill your mind with things to say and with His love.
I have a testimony that we can all be united like the Nephites were if we focus more on God and less on the temptations of life.
