Good morning. My name is Brock, Orgill. I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest youth speaker ever but ill do my best to implore my wisdom. Here is a great quote about following prophets by Elder Neil L. Anderson. If we choose to set his council aside and determine that we know better our faith suffers and our eternal perspective is clouded, I promise you that as you remain resolute in following the prophet, your faith in the Savior wil increase. I think the story of Noah's ark is a great example of how listening to a prophet Is very important. In Moses chapter eight, verses 23 and 24 it reads, "and it came to pass that Noah continued his preaching unto the people, saying: Hearken, and give heed unto my words; Believe and repent of your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, even as our fathers, and he shall receive the Holy Ghost, that ye may have all things made manifest; and if ye do not this, the floods will come in upon you; nevertheless they hearkened not. I'm sure when it started to rain, the people were like, oh man, we should have listened. Henry B Eyring stated the failure to take prophetic counsel lessens our power to take inspired Counsel in the future. The best time to have decided to help Noah build the ark was the first time he asked. Each time he asked after that, each failure to respond would have lessened sensitivity to the Spirit. And so each time his request would have seemed more foolish, until the rain came. And then It was too late. We need to listen to the prophets and have faith in their inspiration. I'm grateful to have living prophets that direct us. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
